Best Ways to Use Signs

When looking for an outdoor sign and considering the material often wood is not on the top of the list. Wood can fade in the weather and start to decay. Even wooden signs that are treated only last for a few years before really showing signs of weathering — well they usually only look nice for a few years. These signs can always be retreated and repainted to help them have a longer life. Still one type of sign made of wood is considered for using outside and that is plywood.

It is important to note that typical plywood is different from plywood used for signage. Types of plywood strengths and styles vary. It could be 1/2 to 3/4 inches thick and often has weather protected piece of paper or vinyl covering it. This area is primed and often a coat of paint as well as sealant is placed on it before the actual sign message is added. These are all ways to help protect it from the weather. This type of plywood is often known as Cresson. Medium Density Overlay (MDO) board is designed to last even longer because it has a special aluminum surface. These signs give business owners or other needing signs some options.

These products show that plywood can be made into a durable material that has been treated to stay nice for many years and the ink can be UV protected. Signs can be a variety of sizes including 4×4, 8×4, 10×12 and 18×24 as well as smaller or larger. Plywood signs can be used as property for sale signs, construction advertising on the site, along with helping promote the message and draw attention to an area.

Rain rolls right off the sign and it doesn’t warp it. Instead it stays nice for many years without much destructive wear and tear. The sign’s message stays in good condition as well because the ink is fade resistant. The sign will look the same as it did when it was put in place even years down the road.

Businesses, groups and politicians also use plywood’s signs. These signs help promote a product or a service as well as bring a name to the public. Signs made of plywood can be customized in any color including full color such as for graphics and pictures. The graphics can be added, even if it a custom idea.

Is Digital Printing Or Offset Printing the Right Choice for My Printing Project?

On a recent Twitter tour I noticed that more and more people out there are talking about digital printing. Why? There’s no doubt that digital printing is the wave of the future, and it’s definitely changing the way commercial printing is doing business these days. More importantly, however, digital is opening up opportunities that businesses simply didn’t have using yesterday’s offset printing capabilities.

That doesn’t mean that offset printing is down for the count. Don’t make the mistake of thinking that your old school printing press is out of the picture, because it’s definitely not. It’s just being used for a more…specialized line of work these days. Here’s a look at the differences between digital printing and offset printing and how your commercial printers are going to decide which one is a best-fit for your printing project.

Volume

When they’re flipping a coin to decide between digital and offset printing, volume will be a major considering factor. Why? Because digital printing is a great way for companies to create a smaller volume of marketing product, but it doesn’t offer the same potential for savings on a large volume of product that you’ll see when you’re talking about offset printing. With offset printing, the majority of your investment is upfront; once the plates are developed and you’ve reached the break-even point, which usually happens at about 1,000, the price per piece then becomes noticeably cheaper.

On the other hand, if you only need a small volume of product but you decide to order a large volume to take advantage of offset printing anyway, you could end up with boxes upon boxes of unused marketing materials gathering dust in your already over-crowded storage space until you decide to throw them out. Then what have you saved?

Medium

The other major determining factor between offset printing and digital comes when you start talking about what medium you want to work with. Although digital is rapidly catching up to the multi-media capabilities offered by an offset press, it’s not quite there yet. With an offset press you have the ability to reach out and print on cloth, wood and paper, and while digital printing is catching up quickly there are still many cases in which the printer in question will prefer to work with an offset press rather than a digital interface.

Variability

Businesses love the opportunities technology presents to start personalizing their materials, whether it be putting a name at the top of the paper or inputting a paragraph designed exclusively for a customer in the middle of the page. Can you imagine the time it would take to create thousands of unique plates for your products on an offset press? The personalization potential offered by digital variable printing is one of the key factors driving the expansion and growth of the digital printing process.

Tag Welding Pulse Settings

Tag Welding with pulse is not what it used to be.

Old School tag welding machines were only capable of pulsing at around 10 pulses per second (10 peps).

Newer inverter tag welding machines are capable of pulsing at rates up to 5000 peps.

Whets better?

For me, its not so much a question of what is better as it is a question of what can I tolerate.

I absolutely hate pulse rates of between 2 and 20 peps and prefer to either weld using 1 peps or greater than 30 peps.

Here’s why.

Pulse tag rates of 2-10 peps are just plain annoying. It is hard to focus on the arc and because of that, any benefit from reduced heat input due to the pulse rate can be lost from wasting time trying to focus on the arc.

Pulse rates of over 30 overcome that obstacle and still reduce heat input by agitating the puddle and letting it flow at a lower overall amperage.

That reduces heat input.

When the tag welding machine is set to around 30 peps, the % on time is also set to 30 and the background current is set to 30, there is a noticeable change in the tag welding arc.

It is easy to see, but the arc flutters enough to allow it to flow at low amperage.

The arc is focused enough to allow for welding near an edge.

The puddle stays where you direct it and does not continue to heat up and increase in size like it does if you are not paying attention welding without pulse.

Working Up a Strategy for Elementary School Fundraisers

Having a plan or strategy is essential to all types of elementary school fundraisers or any type of business endeavor. A fundraising group’s plan basically serves as the blueprint of their business venture. This will tell them the different things that they need to do to make their campaign a huge success and when they should do it. If you have been thinking of setting up a campaign to raise money for school projects, then take note of the tips that I will be discussing below as to how you can formulate a strategy for such.

The first major step that needs to be done when working strategies for elementary school fundraisers would be selecting a theme or an event. Your event or theme refers to what you and your group will be doing during campaign. In addition to this, the theme or event that you get to choose will also tell you the different objectives that you need to achieve for your fundraiser and the ways on how you can achieve them. After selecting a theme or event, you can now jump to building up a team. In here, you will need to recruit people whom you think will be able to dedicate their time and efforts enough to make your campaign work well. Be sure to select persons who will be able to work well together. Aside from selecting hardworking individuals, it would also be good for you to choose people from different backgrounds so that you can have a variety of skills in your arsenal, which you can make use of during the course of your campaign. Having people with different skills in your team will allow you to address the different needs of your campaign well such writing letters; talking to local media; soliciting from local business establishments; and making sales from your actual customers. With this given fact, you get the opportunity to assign the different types of members that you have in their individual specialized areas so that you can optimize your strategy.

Once you get to write up the final list of your volunteers. You can now set up a timeline for your fundraiser. In here you need to decide on the tasks that you and your volunteers need to work on and the ways on how you can do each one of them. Next, delegate the different duties to each of the groups of your volunteers so that you can make it clear who needs to do what. This will make the flow of your campaign smoother. After which, decide on the starting and ending dates of your fundraiser. After this, you can now move on to preparing your budget. Now that you are aware of the things you need to do, you can now decide on the amount of money that you will need to get your event up and running. List down the expenses for the different areas of your event such as the money needed for your products and advertising.

Finding Your Business Name

You are already to get your web site going, wanting to make some money online, but you have not decided on a good, catchy name. You do not want one that is cutesy or so complicated no one can remember it, you want one the reflects the business you are posting out for millions to read. You want a name that people will remember but professional. This is where a business name generator computer software program can come into play.

Basically this type of program will mix up a few names or words and come up with a good name for your business. There are some companies though that do not put much stock in this, but for others it works quite well. There are a few things one should remember when finding your business name using this type of program.

Think long and hard about combining words to get that unique business name, when combining words, you can come up with something you do not want and could be embarrassing when put together. When a word comes up from the program, look at it for a long time, say it out loud, being sure it does not indicate anything that could be misconstrued as foul or sexual.

Because your web site will be viewed from people all over the world, be sure to give it a name that can relate to all countries. A prime example was when Chevrolet came out with its car the Nova; in Spain it means ‘no go’. Well it wasn’t the greatest car in the world, but you get the idea. People will also suggest you choose a web site name that can be expanded, you just might want to expand your products and you do not want to be stuck with a name that can not handle the difference.

Let’s say you want to sell men’s clothing, but you also carry women’s as well. Your web site name only indicates that you sell men’s clothes, and then you lose the potential customers such as women. This limits your sales and you could lose a lot of money.
